Rolling thunder. Screaming fans. Cars whizzing by at a heart-racing 200-miles-per-hour. The sight is captivating, you can feel the horsepower in your chest, and for just a moment, it leaves you speechless. Welcome to NASCAR.
Maintaining this kind of speed requires high levels of coordination, communication and dexterity. The car, driver and crew must be at the top of their game every time the wheels hit the pavement. This sport repeatedly calls for the highest quality mechanical engineering to ensure that drivers are safe and that the machines are fully functioning. That’s where we come in.
Since its inception in 2007, we have enjoyed a long-standing and successful partnership with Stewart-Haas Racing. Atlas Copco serves as the official compressed air provider of the Stewart-Haas Racing facility, helping make sure the cars are ready for the race track each week. As a technical partner during the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, we guarantee that the facility’s compressed air equipment is up and running efficiently so compressed air is available whenever it’s needed.
Ensuring Peak Performance at the Stewart-Haas Racing Shop
Last season, we provided new compressed air equipment and installed our SMARTLINK monitoring technology at SHR’s new 125,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art race shop expansion located next to the team’s existing headquarters in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
The perks of SMARTLINK:
- Peak Performance – Provides 24/7 remote monitoring of the team’s compressed air system to ensure continuous uptime and peak performance
- Remote Monitoring – Gives their facility managers and our service technicians access to a web-based monitoring dashboard that alerts in real-time to compressor performance changes when integrated with the Elektronikon controller
- Predictive Maintenance – Addresses a maintenance issue before it results in downtime.
Stewart-Haas Racing is a title-winning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team whose drivers include Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Danica Patrick and Kurt Busch. Tony Stewart is a three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion. Team member Kevin Harvick is the defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion and is currently leading the series in points with two wins and 12 top-fives on the season.
